General Summary

Under general supervision, responsible for managing the development milestones for assigned brands from prototype phase through sales sample delivery.

Essential Functions

Monitor/Track all design and prototype development from design handoff to color kits.

  • CAD/Technical Issues
  • Ray Material Issues (ie: zyl, metal, lenses)
  • Master Proto/Technical Marking Approval
  • Color Kit Approval
  • Style # / Name Assignment
  • Tooling Process

 

Manage projects for all goggle product categories, including Dragon SNOW, MX, and Snowmobile

 

Create and maintain Style Spec Sheets and communicate with all manufacturers

 

Maintain and monitor design development calendar

 

Review technical F&F information from Quality Control, submit F&F to manufacturers and discuss any technical issues

 

Review CAD drawings; Approve or reject as appropriate; Work with manufacturers and Quality Control to resolve any issues identified

 

Request and maintain all technical/dimensional information for each style relating to construction and composition

 

Review tooled samples with Quality Control and Design

 

Maintain photo records of all prototypes

 

Maintain sizing and material records for each style for catalog and Quality Control testing in Italy

 

Work with Design on color choices, color code and name maintenance.

 

Maintain wholesale pricing data

 

Collaborate with production regarding materials, components and scheduling capacities

 

Collaborate with Supply Chain department for vendor assignment, pricing analysis, materials, components and scheduling capacities

 

Research, source and recommend new materials and techniques

 

Maintain open communication with Brand and Design teams

 

Maintain daily communication with all vendors pertaining to progress of designs and prototypes

 

Perform all other duties as assigned

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

 

Bachelor degree from 4 year accredited college or university or equivalent in experience and training required

 

Minimum 5 years in product development experience required. 

 

Knowledge of eyewear industry or experience in fashion accessory field is preferred

 

Excellent project management skills and experience managing large projects. 

 

Solid working knowledge of MS Office, Word and Excel

 

Strong analytical skills required

 

Ability to work with individuals on a global level

 

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

 

Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to multitask

 

Flexible and able to quickly and effectively change priorities and direction

 

Ability to travel domestic and international

Preferred Skills

  • Manage projects for all goggle product categories, including Dragon SNOW, MX, and Snowmobile
  • Illustrator preferred

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

This position generally works in an indoor office environment.
