Essential Functions

Participate in the strategic direction for doctor-facing solutions such as EyefinityEHR as the medical voice of the company. Collaborate with clinicians and staff across the country to organize disparate views and suggestions into comprehensive direction for product delivery teams. Engage and influence the full lifecycle experience of customers from cradle to grave, aspiring to deliver a stellar experience worthy of the global leader in optical practice solutions. 


Directly recruit and manage customer advisory teams to influence Eyefinity solutions.  These teams will consist of all roles in the office, including staff, technicians, and doctors.


Develop the academic strategy and be the key Eyefinity liaison for all schools/universities. Define and execute strategies to leverage optometric school influence to advance Eyefinity solution penetration in the market.


Create and maintain industry and professional organization relationships as appropriate to ensure representation and connectivity with the optical industry. Industry relationships covers entities such as contact lens companies, lens/lab companies, diagnostic and imaging companies, social media/marketing companies, etc.    Professional organizations covers entities such as doctor affiliate groups (e.g. Vision Source), buying groups, study groups, alumni associations, etc…


Grow to be the industry “brand” as the clinical voice of Eyefinity in the customer market. Manage proactive industry communications to establish Eyefinity as the thought leader for the optical industry.  Speak on behalf of Eyefinity at trade events, media outlets, and recruit and direct a team of fellow clinicians that lecture and publish on behalf of Eyefinity


Influence and support customer engagement, from sales opportunities to customer escalations/retention opportunities. Deliver good outcomes that serve to strengthen the market positon and brand reputation of Eyefinity.


Chair or otherwise influence key government and industry compliance and standards initiatives as applicable to the Eyefinity business. Actively participate in and influence where appropriate healthcare industry organizations and standards committees such as HIMSS, DICOM, and SNOMED CT.


Generate excitement and commitment for solution strategies internally within the Eyefinity team. Grow the optical knowledge of the employee base to better understand the challenges and desires of optometrists and their staff.


Aid in the development and delivery of both internal and external communication and engagement strategies to strengthen the connections between the VSP Global lines of business, in an effort to achieve a fully integrated, efficient and profitable VSP Global business model.

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:


Must be a certified Doctor of Optometry licensed to practice in the State of California.


Have at least eight years of optical practice experience in the profession


Knowledgeable with medical, co-management, and primary eye care models.


We also require you to be highly skilled at using Eyefinity electronic health records and practice management solutions,


Experience lecturing or public speaking.


Comfortable speaking to and using cloud/internet technologies, social media, mobile, etc.


Travel required (20%).


Ability to regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment the in performance of his/her job duties.
