General Summary

Responsible for leading an enterprise architecture function to provide strategic technology direction for VSP Global.  Establish partnerships and collaborate with stakeholders across VSP Global to align technology and business strategies to enable the delivery of business outcomes.

Essential Functions

Evolve the enterprise architecture function and align the architecture domains; Business, Solution, Application, Information, Infrastructure, Integration and Security to ensure that needs of the organization are met in a strategic, efficient and sustainable manner


Lead the enterprise architecture function to set, communicate, govern and ensure compliance of global architecture standards


Lead enterprise architecture roadmaps, frameworks, processes and artifacts to ensure the delivery of enterprise solutions


Lead the enterprise architecture function through capability-based planning, impact/gap analysis, benefit and cost analysis to enable the target state architecture directions


Lead the enterprise architecture function to identify and develop the enterprise capability maps and value streams to enable future state architectural decisions and directions for VSP Global


Collaborate to set strategy that aligns with executive stakholders and peers areas


Strategic problem solving primarily associated with strategic business and technology challenges rather than operational issues

Participate in Global Technology Solutions enterprise-level planning and lead strategy  development for enterprise architecture

Actively manage risk at a functional, business, and enterprise level


Monitor performance of direct reports, provide prompt and objective coaching and counseling; conduct performance reviews and recommend salary increases


Oversee development of the department’s budget; monitor expenses to ensure department costs are within established levels; participate in similar functions, as appropriate, within the Division


Monitor the department’s turnover, productivity and overall performance to ensure adequate staffing and performance that meet department standards and VSP’s needs

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems,  Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field


Fifteen years management experience or equivalent experience in leadership roles


Fifteen years of expierence within Enterprise Architecture or related/equivalent function


In depth experience of Enterprise Architecture frameworks like TOGAF along with the various architecture domains. e.g. Business Architecture, Application Architecture, Information Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, Integration Architecture, Security Architecture and Solutions Architecture


In Depth  technology knowledge for functional area, preferably within healthcare environment


Comprehensive knowledge of business systems and processes, especially industry “best practices”


Strong, demonstrated skills in implementing technology to achieve business objectives


Demonstrated strategic planning capabilities


Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent business and leadership skills

Ability to lead at the enterprise level

Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

The working environment is generally favorable lighting and temperature is adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust etc.
