Senior Marketing Analytics Specialist Market Research Analyst

General Summary

Under general supervision, collect, maintain, and analyze of data for business, product and market development. Provide recommendations based on insights gathered from analysis. Roles include but are not limited to, market research, competitive analysis, campaign analysis and advanced analytics.

Essential Functions

Leverage technical expertise in data mining and advanced statistics to conduct research studies for business development insights 


Build statistical models to analyze and optimize products and services, providing actionable insights in real time


Design and implement statistical tests to verify the models


Guides lower-level Market Research analysts as needed


Influence business partners/teams to implement insights 


Prepare detailed and accurate written reports (including data tables, charts and graphics) with sound, actionable business insight for presentation to management and internal business partners 


Mentor and support the professional development of new and existing staff in data mining and predictive analytics

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:


Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related experience  


Five years’ experience in related analytics work using appropriate statistical methods


Five years’ experience using analytic results to provide insight for management and business partners 


Portfolio of work and completed projects


Demonstrated experience in developing information solutions in a data warehouse environment


Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Strong organizational skills and attention to detail


Ability to multi-task and work under strict deadlines


Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties


Preferred Skills

Experience in market research including research design and execution, data analysis, and generating actionable insights and recommendations from quantitative and qualitative primary market research studies.

Intermediate to advanced experience in data analysis tools such as Qualtrics, Excel, SPSS, and/or similar.

Experience in market research fundamentals including survey design, recruiting, sampling, significance testing, descriptive statistics, crosstabs, etc.

Excellent visual (i.e. PowerPoint) and verbal communication skills with experience presenting research findings to senior leaders.

Health or insurance industry experience. 

Any next-level market research experience a plus: conjoint analysis, cluster analysis, hands-on experience managing panels, focus group moderation, ethnographic studies, etc.

Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.

Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills.

Experience conducting customer and market analyses.

Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.


Able to function, adapt and succeed in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment.

Positive attitude and motivation to deliver the highest quality work.

A High desire for continual learning and a desire to grow their skillsets.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

The working environment is generally favorable.  Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust etc.
