Senior Client & Agency Administrator, VSP Vision Care

General Summary

With minimal direction, manage Managed Care, Exchange, State and Federal client audits.  Acts as the client audit expert / advisor and the primary contact for Health Plan, Exchange, State and Federal auditors.  Lead corporate-wide Client Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) engaging internal business partners and ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met. Collaborate with account teams, sales executives, Compliance Team, Legal and internal business partners on strategies to manage client expectations, legal requirements and business impacts as a result of audits.

Essential Functions

Facilitate key client, Federal and State regulatory audit meetings including;  pre-audit analysis; internal business partners preparation, client/ client auditor alignment, closeout meeting and CAP development or required follow up.


Develops responses to audit questionnaires and/or corrective action plans; interprets client and regulatory agency needs and expectations; formulates recommendations for changing or enhancing VSP systems, processes, policies and procedures; and, ensures that corrective action plans are disseminated, assessed and resolved to positively influence client retention and regulatory compliance.


Responsible for signing off and formally closing out every VSP client audit and CAPs.  Engages the Internal Audit (IA) team to randomly provide verification of process and system changes by business areas to address CAPs. 


Builds effective relationships with business units to ensure the client/agency audit needs are met from initiation (pre-audit) through completion (post-audit).


Responds to questions and influences clients/agencies regarding a broad range of complex requirements that impact VSP operations. Negotiates deliverables, time frames and trade-offs while ensuring clients/agencies understand VSP policies, procedures, systems and the solutions proposed to correct deficiencies.
Conducts research and analysis into the nature, effect and feasibility of client/agency post-audit requirements for deficiency correction.


Develops and maintains data repositories to support tracking, trending and reporting of audit activity and to ensure the accuracy, consistency and integrity of audit information. Produces reports, timelines and graphics using advanced functions of VSP computers and software.


Keeps stakeholders at all levels of the organization informed of the outcomes, issues and concerns regarding the audit process and associated results. 


Serves as a mentor for Client and Agency Audit Administrators.

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:


Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.


Minimum 5 years of experience, working directly with client auditor, client contractual agreements, regulatory audits or regulatory requirements such as Medicaid, Medicare, DMHC, URAC, NCQA, and JCAHO


Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to lead, facilitate and motivate 


Excellent oral, written and listening skills


Demonstrated ability to lead cross-divisional teams in high risk and stressful situations.


Ability to negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external business partners 


Demonstrated ability to solve difficult situations with effective solutions

Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines


High level of computer proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and database software and/or business systems


 Ability to understand relational and mainframe database systems 

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

The working environment is generally favorable, lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
