General Summary

With minimal supervision, analyze, mine and report on data in assigned area of responsibility.  Assist in technical and/or specialized work in the areas of design, development, update, maintenance, and reporting of relevant information.

Essential Functions

Extract, provide and maintain reporting pertaining to multiple systems that house data ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

 

Participate in the development and maintenance of systems and software through effective interaction with business partners and broad understanding of policies and procedures within the division/department.

 

Provide technical specifications and maintain metadata for the data warehouse.

 

Gather and document reporting and analysis requirements in support of business partner requests and/or project needs.

 

Act as the technical or business liaison with IT Division, vendors and/or end users.

 

Act as a specialist in data specific to area of responsibility.

 

Ensure consistency and quality of information.

 

Effectively work with business partners to ensure there is an understanding how the information is being used to support business goals.

 

Identify and translate business needs for projects and broad scale initiatives to ensure effective data analysis.

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems or equivalent experience

 

Minimum of three years proven systems and business process related analysis experience

 

Proficient in one or more reporting and scheduling tools such as; WebFOCUS, SAS, Cognos, Report Caster, Microsoft Access and/or Geo Access software

 

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot system or reporting issues and implement solutions

 

Knowledge of relational business model and reporting concepts

 

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

 

Excellent time management and organizational skills

 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Ability to work under strict deadlines

 

Excellent customer service skills

 

Proficient with standard office software applications

Preferred Skills

Experience with Cognos, SQL, and SAS
