General Summary

With limited direction, responsible for spearheading business development and program strategies with VSP Providers & Eyeconic, as well as Onsite Clinics.

Essential Functions

Manage multiple business initiatives. Guide growth strategy by providing input and direction to the organization and executive leadership team. Identify risks, competitive positioning and integrate new business development plans into the overall strategy for the business.


Work closely with the leadership team to identify significant channel and partner strategies and programs for Eyeconic and Onsite Clinics.


Build and foster strong, positive relationships with the VSP doctor network.


Build cross-business unit relationships to improve programs and leverage resources across the VSP enterprise to maximize the opportunities for Eyeconic, VSP, and our members.  

 

Establish key performance indicators of individual programs; monitor progress to expand, retract or modify as necessary.

 

Represent Retail at key industry/provider events.

 

Ensure effective enterprise-wide communications are maintained internally and externally. Inform employees as to plans and progress; conduct employee discussion sessions at regular intervals.

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

 

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent work experience

 

Demonstrated ability to identify potential deals/relationships and develop the tactics and teams needed to bring them to fruition 

 

Demonstrated ability to actively lead the business development function in an effective manner to achieve disproportionate growth in spite of intense competitive pressure

 

Optical industry and technology experience preferred

 

Proven analytical, problem-solving, presentation and negotiation skills

 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties

 

Ability to travel – 20%

Expereince in Optical is preferred
