Associate Salesforce Developer, VSP Vision Care

General Summary

With general supervision make simple to moderate changes to the Salesforce Platform. Associate Salesforce Developer will participate, with guidance, in the entire Agile Development process taking on tasks throughout all aspects of the software development process including: application design, configuration, coding, testing, and deployment. 

Essential Functions

Utilize business user stories to determine business  and technology requirements to ultimately deliver exceptional programs, features,  modules, and small projects in a timely and cost-effective manner

 

Interact and effectively communicate with business partners and other GTS staff; act as an information resource by providing assistance and support to team members

 

Participate in all phases of Salesforce development life cycle including functional analysis, development of technical requirements, prototyping, coding, testing, and support

 

Participate in the execution of test plans to ensure a quality solution is delivered

 

Work in the Salesforce.com development environment including validation rules, triggers, the Force.com IDE, SOSL and SOQL

 

Use declarative development tools such as field updates, escalation and assignment rules, approval processes and process builder

 

Develop, enhance and maintain custom applications on the Force.com platform 

 

Troubleshoot system issues and implement bug fixes

 

Integrate Salesforce.com with other systems including web services and apexchange apps

 

Apply best practices and design patterns on the Force.com platform

 

Administer, customize and configure Salesforce features including, but not limited to Security,  Profiles, Role Hierarchy, Users, Page Layouts, Record Types, Reports and Dashboards, Approvals, Object Relationships, Fields, Validation rules, etc.

 

Develop documentation to support management and maintenance of Salesforce and associated applications

 

Develops and maintains business and technical knowledge of Salesforce and associated applications

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field; or related experience


Minimum 2 years of IT development experience; experience in Salesforce development 

 

Programming experience in current programming languages

 

Experience designing, programming, and implementing information systems

 

Ability to analyze and evaluate data with identifiable factors for diverse technological problems

 

Excellent communication skills

 

Excellent analytical and problem - solving skills for simple to moderate problems

 

Excellent organization and time management skills

 

Ability to meet organization best practices, expectations, and standards

 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Is aware of risks and escalate as appropriate
