General Summary

Under general supervision responsible for product planning, materials procurement and capacity planning to optimize service and inventory for assigned brands / product lines.  Responsibilities include review and analysis of sales data and forecast plans to propose procurement plan.  Coordinate inventory data with customer/channel requirements to manage inventory plan.  Understand customer/channel demands to facilitate appropriate product assortments and sales calendar.  Understand and support corporate vision and follow through on the goals and objectives set forth by division lead.

Essential Functions

Execute functions in product planning including managing of on hand inventory reports, sales data, and inventory commitments.


Review and manage daily/weekly/monthly sales data and inventory consumption in order to propose procurement plans by customer/program/channel.


Collects and distributes monthly inventory position to Sales and Senior Management to initiate buy plans and assess inventory opportunity/risk. 


Ensure that capacity and product allocations decisions are made within guidelines set within brand and corporate policy. 


Review and approve BOM stock levels and fill rates and proposed buy plans to ensure open to buy plans are in line with brand/product/channel guidelines.


Analyze inventory position per each program to ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained on hand, in transit, and on order.  Propose expedites and push-outs on committed inventory as needed to balance stock levels.


Work closely with Sales and Purchasing/Production to ensure orders are placed accurately and timely, and ensure new program or product launch is tracked and supported.


Work closely with Product Development to help initiate program launch and new product introductions and ensure brand plans are in line with budget and inventory.


Work closely with Distribution Center operations with stock management, inventory transfers/conversions.


Perform project management functions including initiating projects, tracking and reporting progress to senior management.

Job Specifications

Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year accredited college or university in Business, Marketing or related field or equivalent training, education and experience


Three years experience


Strong organizational skills and attention to details.


Flexible and able to quickly and effectively change priorities and direction


Strong computer skills including MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes, SAP


Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills


Working Conditions / Physical Demands

This position generally works in an indoor office environment.

Able to travel by car/fly for significant distances in varying weather conditions
