General Summary

Responsible for identifying new business development strategies resulting in increased revenues and profits streams for Marchon, with a specific focus on the US Optical market and Premier in particular.  

Essential Functions

Create, sustain and build value in Frames specific industry partnerships that result in positive strategic and financial impact for Marchon and VSP.

 

Execute on strategy for developing and leveraging partnerships to achieve LOB specific and corporate goals.

 

In collaboration with Provider Solutions, act as a “Nexus” for industry partnerships for the Frame business of VSP Global. 

 

Uncover new Frames related business development opportunities that would drive extra revenues and profits for Marchon in terms of new business models, new channels, new product functionalities.

 

Evaluate go-to-market strategy for new Frames innovation opportunities arising from the Global Innovation Center.

 

Lead the implementation team that would be executing on such new business development initiatives.

 

Manage multiple business initiatives in a start-up type environment.

 

Monitor and Identify risks, threats, emerging trends and opportunities in the Frames market.

 

Attends industry trade shows, developing opportunities to advance Marchon’s and VSP’s interest.


Involved in developing 3-5 year Strategic plans for the Eyewear line of business.  


 

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field; or related experience.

 

Fifteen years in sales, business development and/or marketing and management/leadership experience.

 

Demonstrated ability to identify potential deals/relationships and develop the tactics and teams needed to bring them to fruition 

 

Demonstrated ability to actively lead the business development function in an effective manner to achieve disproportionate growth in spite of intense competitive pressure

 

Optical industry and technology experience preferred

 

Proven analytical, problem solving, presentation and negotiation skills; and strong financial acumen

 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties

 

Must be able to travel 15% - 20% of the time


 

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust etc.
