About Professional Eyecare Centers

Established in 1986, Professional Eyecare Centers provide a total eye-care experience to families and residents in the Carrington, Jamestown, and Valley City communities. The practice offers full-scope optometry services, including comprehensive eye care, ocular disease diagnosis, treatment and management, and specialty contact lenses. As Professional Eyecare Centers serves an expansive rural community and is well-known in the larger city of Jamestown, the practice has established strong patient relationships. To help drive practice growth and maintain its legacy service, the business is looking to add an Optometrist to the team of 15 professionals.


Professional Eyecare Centers focus on patient-centric care combined with the industry’s advanced technology to provide the best possible solution for patients’ eye health and vision needs. The practice is well-equipped with diagnostic technology to manage all ocular diseases including, Zeis OCT, Canon Fundus Photo, and Topcon KR1W. A team of technicians efficiently conducts patient workups and pretesting to enable a smooth practice flow, allowing the Optometrists to spend quality time with their patients. In addition, customers enjoy shopping at the optical boutique that features collections of designer frames—plus, patients will receive personalized attention from the Opticians who assist in selecting the right frames for comfort, functionality, and personal style. 


About the Optometrist Opportunity

Professional Eyecare Centers is seeking a full-time Optometrist who can practice with precision to ensure excellent eye health and vision care for all patients. You’ll perform general optometry, comprehensive eye care, educate patients about their eye health, develop ongoing treatment plans and recommend products—approximately 12 to 18 patients are cared for daily. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore ocular specialties of your choice. Professional Eyecare Centers is looking for a team player with excellent interpersonal qualities, an excellent chairside manner, and the ability to provide high-quality services with a patient-first mentality. For the right Optometrist, a future partnership opportunity may be available.


To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, communication, strong patient communication skills, and compassion for patient health and safety. In addition, the ideal candidate will be ambitious, responsible, service-oriented, community-involved, and willing to integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.


Minimum qualifications:

•    Optometry license in the state of South Dakota
