About Northeast Eye Center


Established in 2004 by Dr. Michelle Martinez, O.D., P.A., Northeast Eye Center relocated to its newest location in 2015. The practice provides full-service optometry to families and residents in Tarrant County and specializes in dry eye therapy, ocular medical exams, specialty contact lenses, and surgical co-management for cataracts. Located just a mile from Northeast Mall, this ideal practice location offers convenient access to Highway 820 and Interstate 183. To support the practice’s growth and expand service offerings to include vision therapy and other specialties, Dr. Martinez is looking to add an Associate Optometrist and additional optical staff to the current cross-trained team of six employees.


As a highly-respected business in the community, Dr. Martinez and her staff focus on providing patients with quality vision solutions and exceptional customer service. The practice is well-appointed with automated optical equipment and behind-the-scenes functional technology to diagnose and treat a wide array of ocular conditions. Patients are fully educated on preserving optimal eye health, and enjoy a family-friendly shopping experience as they browse a wide selection of optical frames and sunglasses from the optical boutique. Plus, the friendly Opticians go above and beyond to find the perfect frames for comfort and the newest styles for fashion. 


About the opening


The practice is seeking a full-time Associate Optometrist who genuinely cares about the patient experience and is dedicated to providing the world-class service that Dr. Martinez’s patients know and expect. A candidate certified in therapeutic optometry and glaucoma, with the ability to demonstrate clinical experience, will be a complementary addition to the team. The Associate Optometrist will perform routine and medical evaluations to recommend appropriate treatment plans; establish an efficient clinical flow to ensure patient visits run smoothly; and, educate employees to continuously enhance the customer experience.  


The current office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with plans to add additional business hours on Friday and Saturday. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a strong commitment to providing eye care to the community while serving as an advocate for delivering services with the highest standards. As the newest member of the team, the Associate Optometrist will work alongside Dr. Martinez and a collaborative group to ensure successful onboarding and professional development.


To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as compassion for patient health and safety. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, responsible, service-oriented, community-involved, and willing to integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.


Minimum qualifications include:


  • Optometry license in the state of Texas
  • Professional liability insurance coverage


Preferred specialties include:


  • Glaucoma and therapeutic optometry certified
