VSP Global is committed to providing professional opportunities for Doctors of Optometry. That’s why we’re connecting you to Premier Program providers recruiting for openings at their private practices.

This full-time opportunity for an Associate Doctor of Optometry is available at Broadway Eye Center located in Garland, Texas.

Why you should apply

This successful, family-owned practice is growing, and long-term opportunity is on the horizon for the right Associate Doctor of Optometry. If you’re an ambitious professional looking to bring new perspectives to a well-established Optometry practice, with the potential for a future partnership opportunity, this is your chance!

Located northeast of Dallas, Garland is part of the fourth largest region in the nation, the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, and is home to global manufacturing. With a vast array of options that are rich in history, urban appeal, natural resources, and outdoor activities, Garland provides a unique opportunity for convenient and relaxed living. Residents and visitors can enjoy shopping at the Firewheel Town Center with over 100 stores; stepping into the past at the Garland Landmark Museum, the Santa Fe Railroad Depot, and the Resistol Hat factory; or, watching a performance at the historic Plaza Theatre—plus its proximity to Dallas, Plano, Mesquite, and Rowlett allows residents easy access to explore Texas. Located less than 30 miles from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and only 13 miles from Dallas Love Field Airport, Garland is an ideal place to practice and a prime location to live.

About the practice

Established in 1950, this family practice is owned by the founder’s son, Dr. Robert Day. This practice has provided full-service optometry to families and residents for over 65 years in Dallas County, and specializes in cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and contact lenses. Located at the intersection of Broadway Blvd. and East Centerville Rd., this ideal practice location offers convenient access to Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway and Interstate 30. While in the midst of a remodel, Broadway Eye Center is looking to grow its staff of five employees.

As a long-standing business in the community, this practice focuses on providing patients with quality vision solutions and exceptional customer service. The practice is well-appointed with automated optical equipment and behind-the-scenes functional technology that includes digital retinal imaging, high-definition OCT, Humphry visual field, and automated phoropters. Server-based software enables electronic medical records and charting from anywhere. Patients enjoy a family-friendly shopping experience as they browse a wide selection of optical frames and sunglasses from the optical boutique.

About the opening

The practice is seeking one full-time Associate Doctor of Optometry who genuinely cares about the patient experience and is dedicated to providing the 5-star service that Broadway Eye Center patients know and expect. In this role, you’ll perform eye exams for vision and ocular health—a candidate with knowledge in corneal disease and dry eye would be a complementary addition to the practice. The current office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with plans to offer Saturday hours in the future. The Associate OD will work Friday, Saturday, and two days during the week. For the right candidate, a future partnership opportunity may be available.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as compassion for patient health and safety. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, responsible, service-oriented, community-involved, and willing to integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.
