About Keith H. Kosakura, O.D.

Established in 1967, Dr. Kosakura purchased the long-standing practice in 1999. For over 50  years, the business has provided full-service optometry to families and residents in Santa Clara County. Centrally located in Cupertino, the practice offers convenient access to I-280 and the Lawrence Expressway. To support the practice’s growth and maintain a high level of service, Dr. Kosakura is looking for an Associate Optometrist to join the team of cross-trained professionals. 

Keith H. Kosakura, O.D. provides a complete eyecare experience using state-of-the-art technology to diagnose and treat a wide array of eye diseases. The practice is well-appointed with automated optical equipment and behind-the-scenes functional technology including, a Daytona Optomap, Marco Automated Phoropter, Maestro 2 OCT, Alladin Topographer with axial length measuring capabilities, Auto Refractor, Zeiss (Humphrey) Matrix perimeter, and an Icare Tonometer. Cloud-based software is used to manage electronic health records. Patients enjoy a family-friendly shopping experience as they browse a wide selection of optical frames and sunglasses from the optical boutique—plus, the experienced Opticians provide personalized support as they help patients select frames for their vision needs.   

About the Part-Time Opening

The practice is seeking a part-time Associate Optometrist who is a motivated, skilled, and personable doctor able to communicate effectively and educate patients on appropriate treatment options. You’ll perform primary optometry exams, contact lens fittings, and myopia management—approximately 15 comprehensive exams are performed daily with additional medical visits and contact lens checks. The current office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; no evenings or weekends. The position is offering eight to 16 hours per week. A candidate experienced in primary care and specialty contact lenses will be an asset to the team. Compensation and benefits will be determined by work experience and qualifications; and, for the right candidate, a future partnership or ownership opportunity may be available.

In addition, the ideal candidate will be ambitious, responsible, service-oriented, community-involved, and willing to integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.

Minimum qualifications include:

•    Optometry license in the state of California
•    VSP, Medicare, and Eyemed provider certification

Preferred qualifications include: 

•    Primary care experience
•    Contact lens residency
