General Summary

The VP, Diversity and Inclusion is responsible for leading the design and execution of the Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) strategy for VSP Global. Reporting to the CHRO and matrixed to the CEO, this role will consult with leaders to ensure inclusion is incorporated within business strategy and plans. This role will provide solutions and connections to enable a more engaged workforce, mirror the markets we serve, and best position our teams to leverage D&I to create a culture of inclusiveness and performance. Lead and manage all diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives.

Essential Functions

Partner as well as build D&I capability internally within HR and key partner stakeholders (Supplier, Brand, PR, Business Pillars). 

 

Consult with C-suite leaders and HR Business Partners to build D&I capability and activate the D&I strategy within each business unit and function domestically and abroad.

 

Collaborate with workplace, marketplace, community, and customer/supplier partners as well as internal and external stakeholders to activate a national D&I framework.

 

Ensure that the D&I strategies are aligned with VSP Global’s overall strategy/plan and leveraged to promote the business and generate innovation.

 

Lead the governance Business Resource Group (BRG) programs as well as create a D&I community through developing best practices and volunteer committees.

 

Drive inclusive leadership through the development of company/pillar/regional action plans for diversity and inclusion - work with stakeholders to develop regional/functional strategies, utilize metrics for stakeholder adoption, benchmarking enhancements, and continuous improvements. 

 

Promote a culture of inclusion through communication and engagement, in alignment with company strategic priorities and goals.

 

Develop D&I dashboards and methods for the analysis of metrics for measuring progress for effectiveness of the diversity and inclusion strategy, in partnership with HR Analytics.

 

Work collaboratively with HR Communications and the Corporate Internal Communications team to enhance both internal and external branding for diversity and inclusion.

 

Responsible for proposing and recommending D&I training needs.
 

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

 

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

 

Minimum of 15 years of management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of direct reports

 

Minimum 15 years of experience within the D&I field, with relevant experience developing and executing a successful D&I strategy and plan within a mid-large size global organization

 

Experience managing major projects, and leading execution of programs across large organizations with multiple constituents

 

Experience influencing, leading and facilitating enterprise-wide initiatives with multiple stakeholders

 

Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties
